The truck-mounted unit stays at the curb and we run hose to the door, so the noise and the heat stay outside your living room. First pass is a walk-through with you: we look at traffic lanes, doorways, pet areas, and anything you want flagged. Then we vacuum, because dry soil comes out dry far better than it comes out wet. Next is the pre-spray, matched to the fiber and how dirty the carpet is, and we let it sit long enough to work. We agitate with a brush or a rotary head to move the solution down into the pile instead of leaving it on top. Then comes the extraction pass: hot water in, soil and solution out, overlapping strokes, slow enough to pull the moisture back. We groom the pile so it dries standing up, set air movers in the rooms that need them, and tell you how long to stay off it. Estimates are free, you get a firm quote before we touch anything, and the number depends on square footage, fiber type, how much furniture we move, and whether there's pet treatment or heavy spotting involved.

Hot-water extraction is the right call for most jobs and it's what manufacturers like Shaw, Mohawk, and Stainmaster ask for to keep a warranty intact. It rinses the fiber instead of leaving residue behind. Shampooing has a place on older commercial-grade loop and on heavily soiled cut pile where we need mechanical scrubbing before extraction does its job. Wool and wool blends from Karastan, Masland, or Anderson Tuftex get lower heat and a neutral pH, because those fibers will yellow or shrink if you treat them like nylon. If the carpet is loose, rippling, or has buckled after years of humidity swings, cleaning won't fix that and we'll tell you so. That's a stretching job, not a cleaning job. We're also straight about stains. Bleach, some dyes, pet urine that has sat long enough to change the fiber color, and old rust are permanent. We'd rather say that during the estimate than take your money and hand you the same spot back.

Studio City sits in the San Fernando Valley, and the Los Angeles basin and Valley run Mediterranean and semi-arid: a long rainless summer stretch with most of the year's rain arriving in a few winter storms. Soils here are decomposed granite and dry alluvial silt, so what people track in is abrasive dry particulate, not mud. Low ambient humidity works in our favor and carpet dries fast after extraction, unlike coastal-influenced cities where marine layer and overnight damp drag it out. We also get calls after wildfire smoke and ash events, during spring pollen season, and from homes near the 101 and 405 corridors where street soot settles into the pile. The housing here runs from 1900s-20s bungalows to 1950s postwar tract homes to 1970s-2000s stucco apartments, so on any given week we're working on original cut pile over an aging pad in one house and builder-grade rental carpet on a turnover the next. Slab-on-grade construction is the norm, which matters for how moisture behaves under the pad, and dense multifamily buildings mean we plan hose runs and parking before we show up.
